Helene Glüxam Solo

Helene Glüxam, a Viennese double bassist, composer, and NASOM 2025/26 artist, will perform her solo program, Helene Glüxam Solo, in which the double bass and voice create a distinct, focused musical language. The starting point is the contrast between the instrument's deep resonance and the bright timbre of the song, developed through unconventional playing techniques, chamber drama, and open forms. Glüxam works in a variety of contemporary music contexts, from jazz and free improvisation to song forms and alternative sounds, and this solo project has become an important area of ​​her own exploration. The program is based on the artist's own compositions and improvisation; in the minimalist ensemble, every breath, resonance, and shift in tension is clearly audible. The concert is part of Austrian Summer Sounds, a summer series presenting current voices from the Austrian music scene.
