The largest conference for women in new technologies in Europe and Asia will be hosted in Warsaw this summer! On June 12 and 13, The Perspektywy Women in Tech 2024 in Warsaw Expo XXI will bring together leading engineers, programmers, specialists, scientists, entrepreneurs, activists, leaders, start-uppers, students, and women at the beginning of their professional careers, as well as men and all people supporting diversity in STEM, Tech & IT industry.

During the Perspektywy Women in Tech Summit 2024 over 150 inspiring speakers and special guests will be on four stages, as well as participating in dozens of tech-talks and workshops.

The special guest at the summit this year will be from Austria, the first female professor of computer science in a German-speaking country and a pioneer of software engineering Prof. Christiane Floyd (Vienna University of Technology, University of Hamburg). On Wednesday, 12 June, she will give a lecture entitled ‘Artificial Intelligence and truth’ on the main stage - based on an experimental study using the ChatGPT program. On Thursday, 13 June, she will participate in The 5th Seminar for Computer Science Researchers, where she will give a lecture entitled ‘STEPS to human-centred software development’. The Seminar will be devoted specifically to the professional career of women researchers in computer science and related fields. It will offer an opportunity to present research projects and establish valuable scientific contacts.

In addition, Austria will be represented at this year's Summit with its own stand in the Career Expo Zone, which is organized by Austrian Cultural Forum in cooperation with Austria Tourism, ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Warszawa and Österreich Institut Polska. Prof. em. Christiane Floyd (1943, Vienna) - pioneer of software engineering, first female professor of computer sciences in the German-speaking countries and passionate mountain hiker.
Prof. em. Christiane Floyd about herself: I am Austrian, and since 2012 an honorary professor at the Technical University of Vienna. However, I have spent most of my working life in Germany, and I have been, in 1978, the first woman professor in the computing field in the German speaking countries. I have acted as a full professor in software engineering first at the Technical University of Berlin and at the University of Hamburg and am still affiliated with it. In the 1980s, in Berlin, I have (with my research group) developed an approach STEPS for software development with and for users. This human-centered approach is what I stand for until now, I also take a strong interest in a human-centered perspective on AI. In Vienna, I am closely related to the initiative on Digital Humanism.
