Telematic art – Echtzeitkunstwelt – extended realities for the arts

We would like to invite you to a meeting and a presentation of the Echtzeitkunstwelt project. Dominik Grünbühel and Norbert Unfug aka Martin Chiettini, supported by Renate Kreil and Patryk Lichota will present the technology they have developed and introduce the audience to the arcana of working on telematic performances. Beside the presentation Digital Art – a love story between technology and the arts the publicity will have an opportunity to take part at the VR- VR-(Virtual Reality) based project “Stationen theater”.

The audience uses VR-goggles to wander from one virtual world to another. In “zwischenwelten”, visitors come into contact with physical objects that also exist in the virtual world. Haptic and visual perceptions are activated and sensually experienced. “Down the Rabbit hole” was realized in cooperation with the Schubert Theater (puppet theatre) in Vienna. Visitors find themselves in the magical world of a puppet theater and dance with the white rabbit from Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland. The white rabbit owes the liveliness of its movements to the dancer Dominik Grünbühel. These and other installations can be experienced in the presence of the artists.

Echtzeitkunstwelt is a platform that allows artists from all over the world to realize telematic theatrical performances in virtual reality. Through the interaction of different art forms (puppet theatre, music, dance, visual arts, etc.), the project explores the possibilities of performance and interaction between audience and performer in digital space - which is always adapted to the location.

The event takes place in cooperation with the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, the art & science lab | PSNC, ACOnet | net:art coordination center

The Echtzeitkunstwelt project is implemented by the Austrian research centre ACOnet, which is part of the Austrian National Research and Education Network (NREN) for science, research, education, art and culture.
