28th Science Festival in Warsaw
Hydrogen technologies – status, research and outlook
a lecture by Prof. Merit Bogner
Electrochemical hydrogen converters are of great interest as key drivers on the path towards the net-zero emission targets. However, there is no technology that cannot be improved further and fuel cells and electrolysers are no exception. In addition, as the technologies are scaled up and our understanding of them increases in practice, new questions arise that need to be answered by research.
In her presentation on “Hydrogen Technologies - Status, Research and Outlook”, Merit Bodner will discuss the status of electrochemical hydrogen technologies, what she and her team at the Institute of Chemical Engineering and Environmental Technology at Graz University of Technology in Austria are working on and what the future might hold for these technologies.
Ass. Prof. Merit Bodner has been working in the field of fuel cell and hydrogen technologies since 2011, with a particular focus on understanding the durability of fuel cells and electrolyser. She has held senior positions at Danish Power Systems in Denmark and Nedstack Fuel Cell Technology in the Netherlands. Since May 2021, she holds a tenure-track position in the field of expertise “Mobility and Production” at Graz University of Technology. Merit Bodner has more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and received the Hydrogen Europe Research Young Scientist Award in 2022.
